The International Festival Chorus, Singapore was established in 1974 as the adult choral body of the United World College of South East Asia. Since its inception, the chorus has served the local community performing repertoire that ranges from large-scale orchestral works to intimate a cappella gems of different music epochs, cultures and genres. IFC also gave the Asian premiere of David Fanshawe's African Sanctus, as well as the Singapore premiere of J.S. Bach's Johannespassion.
Having seen fine conductors, musicians and singers pass through its doors in its 37 years of history, the IFC has come a long way and amassed a huge repertory of music. While the choir still has UWCSEA parent members, IFC's philosophy of inclusion has helped expand its membership to include Singaporeans and expatriate men and women from different corners of the globe.
IFC presents two formal concerts every year. As a non-profit organization, the choir also performs at various external functions, as part of its fundraising efforts to finance its concerts.
